I know from time to time I talk about certain skin products that I’m currently using, but I wanted to condense it all into one post and give you guys a peek inside my daily skincare routine. From the time I wake up till the time I go to sleep, I’m taking care of my skin. Some of these products I have been using for years, and some are new. I like to keep using my favorites and trying new products at the same time. So it goes a little something like this:
1. wash my face (my face washes are actually not pictured here but I use a number of different ones, just depends on my mood and how my skins feeling)
2. Apply moisturizer
3. Apply makeup (if I wear any that day)
THROUGHOUT THE DAY:
Sometimes I just love coming home after a long day and washing my face. When I do this, I’ll apply some jojoba oil on a freshly cleansed face and wear it throughout the day. Or a face mask!
1. Remove makeup with Dermalogica special cleansing gel (have been using this for years, I swear by it). I wash twice! Once to remove makeup, and another to cleanse the skin.
2. On a fresh and clean face, I apply my Midnight Recovery Concentrate oil from Kiehl’s.
3. After letting that soak in for a few minutes, I apply my overnight moisturizer. Right now I’m using L’Oreal’s dual hydrating and illuminating overnight moisturizer and I highly recommend.
4. I apply my LipSmart lip balm (and wake up the next morning with super hydrated, plump lips)

AHHHH WHAT A DAY. Today was hectic to say the least. Sara and I were running around downtown (per usual) sweating in the heat and trying to keep everything on schedule for Montazami Brand. We’re hosting a pop up shop at our house next Monday, and we’re trying to make sure that our new styles will be available by then! We’re coming out with a long dress and a 2 piece set that I know you guys will love. We’re also coming out with some new jewelry designs… so stay tuned 🙂
Totally random note, but have you guys started with Instagram stories yet? I tried testing it out this morning for the first time and ACCIDENTALLY POSTED such an embarrassing video haha.. It was one of those snapchats you take that you know you would never post, but you just record it anyways haha. I was literally dying because I had no idea how to erase the damn thing!! Now I know how old people feel when they don’t know how to use technology -_-

Here’s what our pool looks like at the moment. We changed the bottom pebble to a nice white color, so hopefully it will look like Carribbean turquoise waters by tomorrow when it’s filled up! The pebble used to be a dark blue color so you can imagine how different it will look with white.
Here’s a little glimpse of my day today! I started the morning with a extreme sculpt pilates class with my mom, and then we had some Swedish friends over for some ”fika” (Swedish word for coffee break). I’m wearing my brand new necklaces from Child of Wild with my white Amuse Society dress and NA-KD lacey bralette. Right now I’m drinking a homemade spicy-skinny lemonade out in the backyard with my mom in 75 degree weather. We have so many new and exciting things happening with Montazami Brand and everything is going smoothly. In a couple hours I’m gunna pick up my car from the dealership (it needed service) and then head back up to LA to make salmon and rice pilaf for dinner with Austin! Life is good 🙂
OVERNIGHT OATS was a breakfast that I’ve been wanting to try for way too long, but last week I decided to finally make it! And I was nothing near disappointed. This is the perfect breakfast for on-the-go people that need something quick, but also really filling. You can basically put any toppings you prefer, so this time I chose banana, strawberry, coconut, and goji berries to sweeten it up a little. This recipe makes about 1-2 servings (I shared mine with Austin).
1/2 cup oats
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
2 tbsp chia seeds
1/2 banana, sliced
3 strawberries, sliced
handful of goji berries
Combine oats, chia seeds, almond milk, and cinnamon in a bowl. Mix. In a glass mason jar, put down 1 layer of the oat mixture, then place bananas and strawberries on top. Repeat this process until all of the oat mixture is used. Store in fridge overnight. In the morning, top with banana, strawberries, goji berries, coconut shreds, and honey. Enjoy!
SOOOO this happened. Before two weeks ago I had no idea this even existed. It’s called ”floating” and it’s a relaxation and de-stressing method that involves tons (TONS) of salt, water, and yourself. It basically goes like this: you enter the zen-like studio, rinse off in the shower, and step into the tranquil-lit ”pod” (that looks like a big oyster haha) where you will float and enter into a deep relaxation period, for a total of 60 minutes. There is so much epsom salt in the water that your body is instantly bouyant, allowing your body to relax and let go while remaining afloat.
For me, the meditation came in stages. I first entered the pod, closed the lid, and laid there for a good five minutes just taking it all in. A soothing blue light illuminates the pod while therapeutic music plays softly. You have the option to turn the lights and music off at any time, so I did it when I felt it was the right time. First with the lights, and then the music. It was a bit weird when everything was dark and silent. I wasn’t sure if I liked it, but after a couple of minutes I began to let my mind drift away. That’s when all the magic happened. Before my session, I was told that deep relaxation was found in the ”theta” state, which is the dream-like state people enter usually before they fall asleep. I definitely entered the ”theta” state. I’m not sure how long it lasted but before I knew it I was gently woken up by the lights signaling my session was over. It was such an experience!! So different than any other meditation-related thing I have ever done (like yoga).
Some of the benefits of floating:
it eases emotional and sleep disorders
relieves physical pain
enhances athletic performance
Some of the immediate benefits that I experienced were: soft skin, shiny hair (it made my hair sooo shiny!!!), decreased muscle soreness, and calmness. Overall it was a really cool experience and I would definitely do it again.

Today I wanna talk a little bit about buying in bulk, my go-to snacks, and new things I’m trying out in the kitchen. One thing I’ve been doing lately is buying in bulk. No, not like Costco bulk. Like from the part of the grocery store where you take however much you want of a certain bulk item and you pay based on the weight. This is CRUCIAL for me because I like shopping at Whole Foods, which we all know is a total wallet-eater. They didn’t get the nickname ”Whole Paycheck” for nothin’. Anyways, buying in bulk has saved me tons of money when I want a certain ingredient in small (or large) quantities. I’ve found it fits perfectly with my on-the-go lifestyle. There’s nothing more I hate than having an old bag of something that gets lost in my cabinet. Buying in bulk is quick and easy. It’s in and out of your pantry just like that BECAUSE you bought the amount that you actually needed. See?! Easy peasy. I wish more things came in bulk.
SO. On to my go-to snacks. You know me, I’m ALL about health-conscious meals and snacks. If it’s natural, healthy, & easy, I’m in. I think a good place to start is to show you guys a glimpse of some of the things I ate today. I cut up some fresh watermelon (read my watermelon rant here) and mango, snacked on homemade coconut oil popcorn with tabasco, and sipped on a meal-replacement juice throughout the day. Those are some of my favorite snacks!
Today in the kitchen I made my first smoked salmon omelette with fresh chives and sliced avocado! It was SO SO SO good. My latest food obsession has been smoked salmon, so instead of waiting to get it out at restaurants like I’ve been doing for quite some time now, I decided to make it at home. I used wild-caught Alaskan smoked salmon from Whole Foods and I am definitely buying that one again!
Another thing I made (to eat tomorrow) is OVERNIGHT OATS! I can’t tell you guys how excited I am to try this in the morning. In the photos above, that’s when I JUST poured it in the glass jar, so it hadn’t set yet. Tomorrow I’m gunna dress it up all fancy with fruit, honey and coconut so I’ll take a picture so you can see 🙂 If it’s really yummy I’m going to have to post the recipe here on the blog. So in love with Montazami Brand’s newest style, the Palma Dress. It comes in this icy grey color as well as black. Yesterday I styled it with some fresh white sneakers, a bright yellow leather jacket, a Montazami Brand tan choker and a matching grey purse. Love it!! I wear a size Small. The best part is that this dress is double lined so everything feels smooth and held together.
Today Sara and I are going downtown to approve our newest style for Montazami Brand! We can’t wait to see it… it’s something that Sara and I decided to do on our own so it’s a little different from our current styles. Exciting 🙂
I know I didn’t have any outfit photos for you guys from New York, partly because it was too hot to do anything, and I was with Austin’s family. But I wanted to share with you some snapshots from our trip 🙂 This time we stayed in SoHo (Austin and I stayed near Central Park on our last trip to NYC) so we got a whole different experience of New York! Now that I’ve stayed in two different areas, I think I would choose to stay in SoHo for my upcoming trips. The restaurants and bars are endless, there’s great shopping, and it doesn’t feel like you’re being BOMBARDED by tourists. Now that I have a little experience under my belt I put together a little restaurant and bar guide for you guys to use if you ever visit this city. Enjoy!

HAHA I cannot get over Copper’s face in these photos. I’ve never met a dog more obsessed with food than she is. She fits right into the Montazami family haha.
This watermelon was too good NOT to share with you guys, since after all it is my favorite summer time snack (along with peaches and nectarines). The good thing about watermelon is that its low in calories, has a high water content (hence the name), and they are even great little treats for your pup too (make sure to remove the seeds and rind before giving it to your pup, though). They’re also good sources of Vitamin A, lycopene (known to offer your skin protection from harmful UV rays), and have a fair amount of Vitamin C.
Fun fact: I’m the designated watermelon cutter of my family. I’m known to create the best, triangle shaped watermelon pieces, as you can most definitely see in the photos above, hehe.
Some tips for picking the most perfect watermelon at the market:
Make sure it has that yellow-creamy colored spot. This means it’s ripe!
Pick it up! The heavier the better 🙂
Knock on the melon with your knuckles. It should bounce right off and feel firm. No dull thuds, because that means it’s too soft.

Tomorrow’s our last day here in New York! I feel like I’ve gained 10 lbs from all of the amazing food we’ve been eating on this trip. But once I get back to LA I’m going straight back to my routine diet. My body has such a hard time digesting breads, pastas, and carb-y stuff I’m not used to eating in large quantities. I’m looking forward to my morning smoothies that’s for sureeee 🙂
